Have you ever had a nagging thought that sometime it would be good to find out what Christianity is all about? Maybe you’ve grown up going to Sunday School and you’re curious about what a faith can be as an adult? Or maybe you’ve never heard about Christianity, Jesus and the Bible but you’re intrigued by a Christian you’ve met?
The Alpha Course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, runs in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world and has now been attended by over 2 million people in the UK and over 18 million worldwide.
Never been to church? Not sure what you believe? Maybe you gave up on church a long time ago. The course was designed for you or anyone who doesn’t go to church regularly.
Alpha is going ahead even during this period where we are in isolation at home. Normally we would meet together in church, eat a meal together and then watch a short talk followed by time in a small discussion group.
In this season we are going to have to leave you to create your own meal but then jump online to a Zoom meeting so we can watch the filmed talk together before breaking into small discussion groups online to discuss the content of the talk and ask any questions you'd like to ask.
To be part of this course you will need access to a phone or computer that runs Zoom software. When you sign up to Alpha we will send out emails with all the help and advice you need to get set up so don't worry!
Topics for each week include: How can I have faith? Why did Jesus die? What about suffering? Why and how should I read the Bible?
