Our Easter

Wow, wow, wow! What a great Easter we have had with our Kerith family. I don’t know about you, but I just LOVE Easter, not just because it is a great time to reflect on how amazing our God is but because it is a perfect opportunity to invite friends and family to church.

Here is a look back at what some of our sites got up to over the Easter holiday…

Easter Movie Night

We had an Easter family movie night at our Farnborough and Bracknell sites and fun was had by all.

The children at our Bracknell site enjoyed Easter crafts, snacks and the movie ‘Hop’, it was a great way for the children to build bonds with each other outside of a Sunday, Church isn’t just about a Sunday right!?

Farnborough site enjoyed pizza, popcorn and the movie ‘Hop’ and again had lots of fun. It was amazing to see the children develop great friendships through the church.

We had some great feedback from a parent at Farnborough she said “These events really are just a marvellous idea, there is such a sense of community and coming along to a movie night at church a few months ago was how we as a family found our faith”. WOW! This is just so encouraging, watching a movie and eating can bring so much joy and community and that’s what church is all about.

 Easter Trail

Our Easter family trail was a great live experience of the Easter story. This was an interactive experience for families to really soak up the Easter story and have time to reflect on Jesus. We had 9 different station’s and each station had an activity for the children to do as well as some reflection activities. Each station was precious but a real favourite for me was the tomb. There was something so real and special about having the opportunity to picture what the disciples went through.

The children really seemed to engage well and it was great to see the older children reflecting on just how much Jesus has done for them, and for all of us.

Digging deeper and engaging well with the Easter stations, really raised the temperature for our Sprint children. During Kids’ church on the Sunday after Easter, the children were SO desperate to know more about God and came roaring with fire. The children were willing to open their Bibles and they asked some great questions and enjoyed doing a mini bible study. How great is that!!? Our children are desperate to learn more about our God. This is just so encouraging.

In the bible, it says - “For where two or three gather in my name, I am with them” Matthew 18
God’s presence certainly was with us throughout the Easter period and it was great to experience that together as a family. I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that came along to these events and thank you to everyone that made them happen.

Be blessed,

Millie McGowan
