Easter 2025!

We have some exciting things planned for our Easter weekend in Kerith Farnborough. We asked our Families Pastor Kelly, to share our plans for all ages with you all in this blog. Read on to find our more!

As I write this I’m looking out the window at the glorious sunshine and the smiling daffodils that have started to bloom… signs of spring that bring that delightful sense of hope and joy, after the grey and dark of winter. It got me thinking about Easter and how regardless of whether its spring like here in the UK, or autumn in other parts of the world, Easter always brings with it that feeling of spring and freshness. Whether you’re a believer or not, there’s an awareness of Easter having links to newness and new life.

At Christmas we often talk about the amazing gift we were given 2000 odd years ago - the gift of a new life, a gift of hope, in the form of a baby named Jesus who would grow up to do the greatest trade ever. At Easter we remember that 33 years later we were given another incredible gift - also a gift of new life and of hope, only this time it came in the form of the now grown man who sacrificed his life and miraculously rose from death so that we can have a new life and life eternal. On the cross Jesus did a trade with us - a trade that was very much in our favour and not His - He willingly took the punishment for mankind’s sinful choices.

I don’t think many or any other human would choose to do the trade that Jesus did for us. We all love to hear stories of amazing acts of selflessness and kindness, and this one definitely deserves to be retold and shared far and wide! So, how are we telling this story this Easter?

Good Friday afternoon - Family Easter Journey

On Good Friday 18th April, between 3pm-5pm we will be inviting children and families to come and explore this incredible true story in an interactive family journey at Kerith Farnborough. This is a great opportunity for us to share the real meaning of Easter with our friends and family who don’t yet know Jesus personally. We would love to have your support in this!

Firstly - please get inviting people you know with children - neighbours, colleagues, friends and extended family. People can book in their FREE tickets here. There are timed slots for arrival so please grab you tickets before they book up!

Perhaps you are creative and have some great ideas, props, or skills to share to help make displays and backdrops - or you are able to help either with setting up the interactive stations of the Easter story on Thurs 17th April, or you are willing to serve and welcome people at the event itself on Friday 18th April - please sign up here if you are able to serve in some capacity.

Good Friday evening - Reflective Service

We’d love you to also join us on Friday 18th April in the evening from 7.30-9pm. Designed more for youth & adults, we will be invited to spend the first half of the evening at the interactive prayer stations of the cross, moving into the second half of the evening by joining in sung worship and reflecting on all Jesus has done for us. No need to book, please just turn up!

Easter Sunday

On Sunday 20th April we will enjoy a celebration as a church family with an all age meeting at 10am. We will worship Jesus and celebrate His resurrection, and there may even be baptisms (what an amazing day for it!) You can register interest for being baptised here if you would like to know more.

We’d also invite you to come a little earlier than usual, as we will share in breakfast together from 9am (pastries, hot cross buns and fruit) and there will be an easter egg hunt for the children at 9.30am. All free of charge, no need to book - just come along!
