Meet…Paul and Calum

Have you wondered what goes on at that desk at the back of the auditorium? Well the Production team make sure the sound, video and all sorts of other parts of the Sunday experience run smoothly. Here we hear from Paul and Calum about their background and how you can get involved.

“Being fully immersed in worship is when I feel closest to God and I hope that through the Production teams' work we can enable everyone to experience this in our services.”

Paul Reed leads the Production team at Kerith Farnborough.

“I’m married to Maryrose, have a seven-year-old daughter and live in Crowthorne; she’s our miracle baby but that’s another story. Before Covid travelled internationally for work two to three days most weeks, but now I’m mostly working from home. It’s been different but has given me more family time, with the walk to school few times a week.

We’d visited Kerith at Bracknell but never really settled in, and when a new site was started in Sandhurst we went for the first week and felt right at home. We decided that to get better connected we would both start serving; Maryrose on Welcome Team and me on the Tech Team. I’d never done that kind of thing before, but had some great coaches that helped me build my experience and ability.

It’s great that we are blessed with talented musicians and singers and I love being able to help them sound amazing. Being fully immersed in worship is when I feel closest to God and I hope that through the Production teams' work we can enable everyone to experience this in our services.

Our new home in Farnborough is a super exciting time both as we put together the new kit and build a new Production team. If anyone is interested in seeing more of what the team do, then we’d love to show you. All ages are welcome (my seven-year-old daughter is starting to learn sound) and if you can find your way round a PC and the internet you’ll be fine. Just come and say hi to us at the back of a room on a Sunday.“

Calum Field is Kerith’s Head of Production, and is part of our Kerith Farnborough community.

“I’m Calum and I’ve been part of Kerith since joining in 2013 after me and my wife Debs got married and moved to Bracknell. We've got two children, Fliss who is four and Jesse who is two. I’ve been on Kerith staff for five years leading Production.

My team makes sure all the locations have the correct equipment and training to put on fantastic services which allow everyone to engage and hear from God. The new Farnborough building is going to be a brilliant environment for our community to meet in. We managed the installation of the PA system which allows our bands and preachers to be heard clearly throughout the auditorium, and the 5m x 3m LED screen which we use throughout the meeting to display song words, graphics and video media. All this equipment will also support many other activities outside of a Sunday.”

You can see what the Production team have been up to on their Instagram, and if you’re interested in the team they’d love to hear from you. There’s a couple of training sessions coming up this week and next week on the software used to display media, graphics and song words. Head to the Kerith website to find out more.
