Faith as small as a mustard seed, can move mountains!

Each year at Christmas we love to support different charities in our local communities, and this year is no different. In Kerith Farnborough we are raising much needed funds for Mustard Seed Autism Trust.

You may recognise Sarah Clements, one of our church community, who is the coordinator for Mustard Seed Autism Trust. Sarah recently shared this with me;

Mustard Seed was set up in 1999 as a team supporting children with additional needs in our local church. From the beginning we were keen to explore how we could bring this support to the wider community and in 2012 our dream became a reality when Mustard Seed Autism Trust registered as a charity. Our mission is to equip children, empower parents and educate society so that together we can build a more understanding world. With fantastic support from trustees, volunteers and our local community we have built a family support service that provides specialist work and resources for autistic children; training and advice for parents; and monthly sibling support groups.

 We believe "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." (Luke 17:20-21).The journey of our charity is filled with stories of change and new possibilities. Twelve years on and we are still being amazed by the doors that open with opportunities we never imagined. It is an absolute privilege to work with these wonderful children and their families, and we look forward to the next steps in growing this little seed further.

At both our Christmas Experience Carols Services and our Christmas Day meeting, we will be hearing a little more about this amazing charity and where our money would be put to use. We’ll also have a moment for each of us to donate to their important work.

Sarah and the team are really bringing the light of Jesus to the world around them - and in turn we are so pleased to be able to shine a light on the important work they are doing. Please be praying about how you can give. It may be you are in a position to give a lot - it may be you can only give a little. As we’ve heard already - the smallest of things can still have huge impact!

You can read more about the charity here and, if you are able to, donate in advance to our Christmas charity appeal by clicking here.
