Preparing for sound, light, action

Every week we are arranging for professionals with specialist knowledge and skills to assess features of Caroline House. This week Calum arranged for a structural engineer to assess the load bearing capacity of the roof beams in preparation for installing the AV equipment we have purchased for our auditorium. This is a really important step, not only for safety, but the ability to hang equipment from the roof will allow us to keep the floor as clear as possible, and will aid the ability to make the space flexible and multifunctional.

Later this week we have a specialist company who will produce a 3D scan of the building booked in. The 3D scanning will help us plan how to make best use of the space. Right now we are in the ‘iceberg’ stage of building infrastructure. A lot of work is going on out of sight that will enable us to maximise the potential of our building for the future.

Look out on this blog for a sign-up for our first work-party planned for Sunday 27th June. We are making a plan for clearing the car park. Check your diary and see if you are available and news will be posted soon.
