An answer to prayer-meet our new Families Pastor!
Throughout the last 18 months we have been praying and waiting on God for who would lead Kerith Youth into this next season, and for the last few months we have also been praying the same for our Kerith Kids ministry. We advertised a new combined Families Pastor role last year, in the hope that we would attract the person God wanted for us - and He has answered our prayers in sending us Kelly Heath. Why not read below as she introduces both herself and our family to us;
Hello! I’m really excited and feeling very blessed to be a part of the Kerith Farnborough family and am looking forward meeting you and getting to know you all soon.
As I’m not only new in my role as Families Pastor at Farnborough, but as a family we’re also fairly new to Kerith, here’s a little about us! My husband Darren, our three children (age 13, 11 and 8), and two dogs moved to Fleet three years ago from London. Until summer 2024 we were part of His Church London where I led the children’s ministry for 10 years. Before this, and alongside this role, I worked as a Play Therapist. I have always had a heart for coming alongside children and young people and helping encourage them to be all that God created them to be. Last year we felt it was time for us to be planted in our local community and for me to step closer into all that I carry in my heart for where we live. After many Sundays visiting churches, we found Kerith and it felt like home!
I have a great passion for raising our next generation up to be confident, courageous, kind, wise and joy-filled young people who know and love Jesus and who walk in the peace and joy that comes from relationship with Him and in the good plans that God has for each of them.
Kerith Farnborough has very exciting plans for the next few years with our amazing building project and I’m excited to be an extra pair of hands and feet in building into what God has planned. I am excited to be a part of a community where all ages can come to connect, feel supported, have fun and feel God’s love.
I look forward to getting to know all of our children and youth and partnering with our volunteers, parents, carers, grandparents, aunts, uncles (and everyone inbetween!) to do all we can to make church a place where our young people want to be, a place where they encounter Jesus - and a place where they are encouraged and equipped to be the brilliant people that they were created to be!
Please do continue to welcome Kelly, Darren and their family into our Kerith Farnborough. We know that as a church family it’s all of our responsibility to encourage and raise the younger generations to know and love Jesus, and of course Kelly steps in to lead a fabulous team of volunteers in both Kerith Kids and Kerith Youth.
We do have two Sundays at the moment where we need more team in order for these groups to happen - would you like to join the journey with us in this? We would love to hear from you if so! If you can serve or support in prayer, or perhaps you have a word of encouragement for Kelly, or our precious young people? Why not drop Kelly a line by email by clicking this link.
