Our First Sunday

This Sunday was a huge cause for celebration - it was our first gathering together in 21 months, and our first meeting in our brand new fixer-upper building. After praying, preparing and painting for so many months, we were delighted to see so many people there eager to meet with God and meet with each other. We spent time remembering God’s faithfulness in the past: when we gathered in Sandhurst School, in the Village Hotel, and throughout Lockdown. And we then dreamt and anticipated the goodness that God will do in our new building, praying and prophesying over the space. Heather preached on Psalm 126, and as a community, we're believing for God to rain on barren ground once again. We also launched our Kerith Kids rooms and many children experienced physical church for the very first time, having not yet been born at our last Sunday morning gathering!

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to our launch Sunday, new friends and old, those who visited from other sites, and those who have been part of us each week since the Sandhurst days. Also, thank you to our amazing team who turned up at the crack of dawn, trouble-shooted through the teething problems and who made the day possible.

It seemed like a dream, too good to be true,
    when God returned Zion’s exiles.
We laughed, we sang,
    we couldn’t believe our good fortune.
We were the talk of the nations—
    “God was wonderful to them!”
God was wonderful to us;
    we are one happy people.
4-6 And now, God, do it again—
    bring rains to our drought-stricken lives
So those who planted their crops in despair
    will shout “Yes!” at the harvest,
So those who went off with heavy hearts
    will come home laughing, with armloads of blessing.
Psalm 126 (The Message)

Next Sunday

Whether you were there or not on our first week, everyone is warmly invited to come and join us next Sunday at 10 am. Jacqui Webber-Gant, one of our Farnborough Team and Kerith’s Small Groups Champion, will be preaching. We’re also going to be gathering in person at our Farnborough Building in the evening to pray for the building project from 7-7.45pm. We’ll see you then!
