Play equipment gets a new home
One of the first things we needed to do to start getting Caroline House ready was to move the play equipment out of the building. We were put in touch with The Pioneers Project, a Christian organisation based in Plymouth, who were able to come to Farnborough and take away the for use in a new community project. You can find out more at thepioneersproject.co.uk.
Here’s what Director of The Pioneers Project Lisa Dawson said:
We have been so blessed by Kerith Church in Farnborough, thank you for donating the soft play from your new site to The Pioneers Project. We are a small Christian organisation that has taken on the large task of developing an old Barracks in a highly deprived estate in Plymouth. We are creating a community hub for local residents to come and find hope, truth and community. We have plans for a community café, soft play, church, youth space, therapeutic alternative education, and community gym.
The soft play will make a big difference as it will attract more people to the site so we can come alongside families, and will bring regulation to young people that are struggling in school and in life to cope with the stresses. Climbing and squeezing through tight areas is so good for the body, it is going to help them walk out a more balanced person.
Collecting the play equipment has also led to a new Alpha group starting; the team bonded when they came to Farnborough to dismantle and move the structure, and were all so amazed with how God had opened doors for this opportunity.
Thank you so much - God is so good!
