Take-Two: In-Person Church is back!

With the good weather forecast into next week, we have had the OK that the building will be safe to meet in on Sunday (as long as the weather stays dry!).

Next week, a team of roofers will be in to do the repairs to both the crack in the gulley that caused the leak and the minor leaks in the skylights across the roof that are letting in water in other areas…. meaning we should be watertight by Mother’s Day!

For this Sunday, we have had to adapt the building to ensure its safety and this will primarily impact our children’s rooms. We have turned the electricity off in all the sockets upstairs in case of water damage so, while we do have lights (which are safe to use), our carpeted kids’ room will be TV free. The leak primarily affected the Sprint Room, so this room will be out of action for the next month until we can get new flooring and test the electrics. Our plan is for Kerith Kids to merge age groups in the interim across two rooms until all the kids’ spaces are back in action. When you arrive on Sunday, the Kids team will give you directions as to where your child will be.

I’m so proud of everyone’s patience and flexibility over the last two Sundays and am yet again really grateful for such a hardworking and adaptable team who take it in their stride when we’re thrown these challenges to navigate. A huge thank you to the site services team in particular for their support in getting the leak sorted.

This Sunday, we can look forward to hearing from Simon, our senior pastor, who will be preaching in person and I’m sure will tell us all about his trip to meet the Pope this week! We’ll also be sharing communion together and Shari will be leading us in worship.

After a few weeks online, it’ll be great to see everyone’s faces again!
