Auditorium Renovation Gift Days

We've been continuing to steadily grow in numbers of people coming on a Sunday, which is exciting! However, we're starting to run out of room, especially for families wanting to sit together and new visitors finding space. As a rule of thumb, once we’re 80% full, we are effectively full.

Creating More Space

One option to create more space is to have two morning meetings (e.g., 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM). However, this would require two serving teams, which could stretch our current resources and potentially affect our sense of community for a season. The other preferred option is to reconfigure the auditorium by moving the platform to the right far wall (as you face the current platform).

This would:

        - Provide more seating.

        - Create a larger platform for the worship team.

        - Allow for longer rows, bringing more people closer to the platform.

        - Move the entrance to the back of the auditorium, making it easier for latecomers to enter discreetly.

Here are a few pictures of how it might look:

This seating plan is not accurate but hopefully these images will give you an idea.

We will not need to put any seating under the mezzanine yet. If we do in future we’ll look to keep most of the refreshment area for as long as possible. One possibility is to knock through the wall into the kids warehouse space and transform that area so it has a dual purpose. A kids space during the meeting and also a nice refreshment area after.

I personally think the new layout will have a much better feel and also set us up better for events. Also, if we do continue to grow to around 300 people, this new configuration and larger gathering of people will better position us to then consider two meetings or even plant another site nearby.

To raise the necessary funds for the auditorium changes, we will hold two gift days on 30th June and 6th July. The central production team are still working on costings which we will hopefully have soon!

Thanks to generous donations given on our previous Gift Days we’ve already successfully completed several building projects including:

    - Entrance renovations.

    - Kids’ warehouse space improvements, including a new heating system.

    - An amazing café area and a new coffee machine.

These changes have significantly enhanced our ability to serve the church and our visitors, and we believe the next auditorium changes will enable us to do this even more. All these efforts are about us fulfilling the mission Jesus has given to us - to make disciples (Matthew 28:16-20).

Please be thinking and praying about what to give to the building fund and, if you able to, you can to that via this page: https://www.kerith.church/windsor-renovations

It you have any questions or concerns about the changes please do get in touch. Let’s keep praying for guidance and provision as we move forward with these exciting plans.

Thanks,

Leon.
