Keeping The Kerith Centre Bright and Clear

A Look at Our Building Fund Projects

Give to the Bracknell Building Fund

Opening our doors in 1989, and having been a recognisable and welcoming space within our Bracknell community for over 30 years, The Kerith Centre is in need of some upgrades to keep it functioning at its best. Thanks to the generosity of our congregation, we raised a significant portion of the funds needed when it was being built, and in more recent years we’ve continued to contribute towards its major related upgrades, projects and maintenance through the Bracknell Building Fund. Let's take a closer look at the two key projects underway:

1. Upgrading the Auditorium Lighting

Our current lighting system is outdated and inefficient. Replacing it with LEDs will not only save energy and money but also improve the overall look and feel of the space. Here's what the upgrade entails:

  • Energy Savings: Modern LEDs use less power, reducing our environmental impact and utility bills.

  • Futureproofing: Incandescent bulbs are being phased out, making LEDs a sustainable choice.

  • Improved Aesthetics: Say goodbye to the harsh "Shrek lights"! New LEDs offer a more natural and versatile lighting experience.

  • Enhanced Functionality: We'll have better control over light levels, zones and individual lights, allowing for more dynamic event setups.

2. Replacing the PA System

The sound system in the Kerith Centre is nearing the end of its lifespan. Upgrading will ensure crystal-clear audio throughout the auditorium.

  • Improved Sound Quality: No more muffled or distorted sound, especially in the balcony.

  • Phase 1 Complete: Stage microphones and musician monitoring have already been upgraded in late 2023.

  • Next Steps: A consultation to assess the weight capacity of our roof structure and replacing the entire speaker system for both upstairs and downstairs.

The Total Cost and How You Can Help

These projects combined amount to roughly £230,000, of which as at the end of May 2024, we’ve together raised over £90,000!
