No Physical Gathering This Sunday

I'm sure you’ve heard the precipitation themed worship songs over the years:

“Let it rain”

“Open the floodgates of heaven”

“Holy Spirit rain down”

And if you’ve been near Farnborough this week, you’ll know that God is faithful, and has answered our prayer… in one way at least! After all the rain that we’ve received over the last few days, we walked into the Farnborough Building this week to find a leak in the roof, a flooded kids’ room and soggy auditorium. There was a waterfall pouring into the auditorium, and the vinyl kids’ floor in the Sprint room became like a waterbed and very bouncy which, whilst I’m sure the kids would enjoy playing on, isn’t safe to use and the floor will need replacing.

Over the coming days, a roofer is coming to assess what is causing the leak and to fix it, but with more rain expected over the weekend, as well as the work required to dry the building out and check that the electrics haven’t been impacted, we’re not in a position to be able to meet this Sunday.

What a way for God to envision us for raising money for our building fund hey!? Both affected spaces were on the list to be renovated anyway, and money raised in our gift days will be put towards their refurbishment. You can give via this link and if you want more information about our plans, check out the previous blog.

This Sunday, why don’t you take the opportunity to visit one of our other sites, or join our online church community on the Kerith youtube page. There are weekly episodes of Kids TV so Kerith Kids can join in too!

You can still drop any sleeping bags off between 10-11 a.m. on Sunday in the Farnborough car park where we will transport them to be shipped to Ukraine.

As long as the leak gets fixed and the building is safe, we’re planning on meeting again next Sunday 13th March for Baptism Sunday where we will have more water in the auditorium! Sad to not be gathering in person, but hope you have a great weekend.
