Christmas Plans & The Big Quiz

We’re heading into December, and there’s lots coming up in West Wight! See below a list of all the upcoming events and dates for your diary.

Big Quiz

But first, I wanted to let you know about our Big Quiz we held on Saturday raising money for Tearfund! We had a great time quizzing joining with 10,564 people across the UK, including about 50 of us! At 252 churches, raising £30053, plus £180 given in cash at our event! 👏👏

Thanks to those of you who came and donated. We love being together, having a laugh and making a difference! Big thanks to Ben B and the brilliant team who made it happen too! We appreciate you all!

Christmas 🎄

So, we are gearing up for Christmas and particularly our Christmas Experience on the 11th December.

We’re really looking forward to gathering with friends and family to celebrate the birth of Jesus and share the gospel message with those who don’t usually come to church. I’d love to encourage you to invite someone to come, especially if they’re not used to coming to church, or haven’t for a while. Or if you have somewhere you can put a poster (a window or a shop near you or a community board etc.) to advertise it further just let me know and I can print some off.

You can sign up here for free (this is really helpful for us to know numbers!), and if you sign up you could win a Christmas Hamper! What an incentive! Not to mention all the cracking stuff that’s going on at the event! If you’d like to be involved in making it happen, with either set up, helping on a craft table or something else, do let me know!

God with us – let’s be with Him

As you can see there’s lots going on, and it’s often such a manic time of year, but through it all I pray that you will know the Prince of Peace, who came into the world to bring us peace. I encourage you to take some time out to be with Jesus throughout this season. Prioritise being with Him, rather than all of the additional distractions that take up our focus and energy around the celebration of His birth. He is Emmanuel - God with us, so let’s make it a priority to be with Him too.
