Creation Care…

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

We began our series on Creation Care across Kerith on the 19th of September and to launch this we had Ruth Valerio visiting to speak with us. We have now begun to look weekly at each day of the biblical Creation account. It’s our desire that this journey will help us to appreciate what God created as good, seeing how He's still involved in it today, what He’s teaching us presently and how He would have us execute our dominion responsibility.

This past Sunday, Ben Pocock spoke in Bracknell, starting with Day 1 of Creation and how God spoke light into the chaos that existed. Kind of like flicking on the light switch to examine how untidy the room is before figuring how to sort it all out. We were reminded of how the Light existed even before the sun, moon and stars (which were created two days later). We then saw how dotted across the Bible, there's evidence that God is light. His word is light. In John 1 we see God’s Word was in the beginning, was with God and is God. Jesus is the Word and the Light. He says later in the book of himself:

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’ - John 8:12 NIVUK

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” - John 9:5 NKJV

Jesus, doesn't hoard this title as He invites us and declares to us:

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. - Matthew 5:14 NKJV

So here are a few questions for our reflection, prayer and action:

Locally and spiritually... How might we shine a little brighter for Jesus in Bracknell and beyond?

Globally... Speaking of light and other forms of energy, we don't have to stretch our imagination to see what energy lack looks like... Just look at the recent queuing situations in filling stations and the scarcity of petrol and diesel. That's the everyday experience in some parts of the world. So what can we do to use our energy sources in a just way remembering they are a gift from God? How can we champion and celebrate the provision of clean green renewable energy to help others in the world struggling with little or none?

Let’s continue the conversation from Sunday to Sunday and go deeper in our small groups over the next few weeks of the autumn term.

Kids Work & Unleashed (Youth )

There won’t be Kids Work or Unleashed in Bracknell this Sunday, 3rd October.

For Kids, the planned October dates are the 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st.

Unleashed on Sundays, will begin to run a fortnightly schedule from the 10th of October.

As we’re still seeking to have enough, and eventually abundant team, for Kids, and particularly Youth, we’d love you to volunteer if you have a heart for seeing our young people growing in their faith and love of Jesus. This way our Kids & Youth can be blessed in their age groups each and every week when we meet.

Volunteer with us

One of the best ways to feel at home at Kerith Community Church and meet others is to get involved by volunteering to serve. It takes an army of volunteers behind the scenes to help our local communities find their way back to God - and we’d love for you to join us in our mission.
